Tinubu Sacks 5 Ministers, Reassigns 10

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has re-assigned ten ministers to new ministerial portfolios and announced the sack of five.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the presidenncy on the 23rd of October 2024.

Hon Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu who was the Minister of State, Education is now the Minister of state Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction while Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa, the Minister State, Health is now Minister of Education.

The President reassigned Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo who was the Minister of State, Water Resources and Sanitation as Minister of State Works while Hon. Abubakar Eshiokpekha Momoh Minister of Niger Delta Development is now Minister of Regional Development.


Uba Maigari Ahmadu erstwhile Minister of State Steel Development is now Minister of State Regional Development as Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment has assumed office as Minister of State Finance .

Sen. John Owan Enoh,who was the Minister of sports has been appointed as the Minister of trade and investment (industry) while Imaan ulaiman-Ibrahim who was Minister of state,police affairs is now the Minister of women affairs .

Ayodele Olawande,the Minister of State for Youth Development is now Minister for Youth Development while Dr. Salako Iziaq Adekunle
Adeboye who was the Minister of State, Environment is now Minister of State, Health.

Among the sacked ministers are Uju Kennedy-Ohaneye, former Women Affairs Minister, and Prof Tahir Mamman (Education).

The President thanked the outgoing ministers for their service to the nation and wished them well in future endeavour.

The President also announced the sack of five ministers including Barr. Uju-Ken Ohanenye, Minister of Women Affairs; Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism; Prof Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education;Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development and Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youths Development.

He wished the sacked ministers successs in their future endeavours while charging the new ones to prioritise the government’s policy thrust of development
