President Bola Tinubu has appointed Comptroller Auwal Mohammed, Customs Area Controller of Apapa Command and five other officers into the management team of the Nigeria Customs Service(NCS).
Mohammed, who is now an Assistant Comptroller General of Customs is among new appointments to the cadres of Deputy Comptrollers General(DCGs) and Assistant Comptrollers General(ACGs) announced in a press release issued Abdullahi Maiwada, Customs National Public Relations Officer on Friday.
Mohammed, who led customs in Apapa to achieve a record breaking N9.2b daily revenue collection on July 20 was appointed alongside three DCGs- Festus Okun and Mohammed Musa and Al bashir Hamisu.
Two other newly appointed ACGs announced in the release are Kamardeen Olumoh and Olaniyi Alajogun
While thanking the retired members of the management for their meritorious
service, the Acting Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale
Adeniyi congratulated the newly appointed Officers and charged them to
redouble their efforts to ensure the NCS achieves greater heights in its
mandates of revenue generation, suppression of smuggling and trade facilitation.
