The Executives of Transporters for the “Tinubu 2027 Political Support Group” have paid a visit to the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) headquarters recently to discuss potential collaboration between government, transport operators, private parastatals, and to ensure grassroots participation in enhancing government reforms .
The Group told the President General of the Union, Comrade Francis Bunu that this is aimed at improving national mobility, economic growth, and sectorial mobility.According to the Group, the visit to the Union is also to acquaint its leadership with the vision, structure, and programmes of the Transporters For Tinubu 2027.
The leadership of the Tinubu project further said that they recognise the MWUN as one of the frontline labour organizations in Nigeria and Africa , including its important roles in water transportation in the country; hence, they consider the Union as an important arm that could further project the course of the Tinubu 2027 project.

Comrade Bunu in his response thanked the Project organizers for recognising the Union at a period like this, saying that the Union will always stand by whatever brings progress, unity and development to the country.
The Maritime Labour Activist also told his guests that the Union is not unopposed to the strategic issues that will take Nigeria to the next level but was also quick to remind the Project organizers that the Union is non partisan but it’s committed to good governance at all times.
The meeting marked a significant milestone in the history of Nigeria’s transport sector, as it signalled a new era of collaboration between labour organizations, government, and private stakeholders.
As the country looks forward to the 2027 elections, the Transporters For Tinubu 2027 project is expected to play a major role in shaping the country’s transport policy and promoting economic growth.
