Revenue: You’re Performing Excellently, EFCC Director Tells Chana, Kano/Jigawa Customs Controller
Customs Area Controller of Kano/Jigawa Command, Comptroller Dauda Ibrahim Chana has been commended for achieving 273 percent revenue increase by the newly appointed Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), CE Ibrahim Shagali
Shagali who said this when he visited Chana as part of familiarization engagements with stakeholders in his new area of assignment
During the visit, the Zonal Director expressed his appreciation and commendation to the Customs Area Controller (CAC) for the command’s impressive revenue collection of 52 billion naira, representing a 273% increase compared to the previous year’s record.
This was contained in a press release issued in Kano by Customs Public Relations Officer, Saidu Nurradeen.
According to Nuradeen ,the EFCC chief praised the cordial working relationship and collaboration between both organizations and acknowledged the CAC as a “Revenue Guru” who has demonstrated exceptional initiative and commitment to adding value to both states and the nation at large.
In his response, Comptroller Dauda Ibrahim Chana (the CAC) thanked the Zonal Director for the visit and pledged to continue the harmonious working relationship and collaboration between the two organizations. He shared his positive experiences working with the EFCC on special assignments earlier in his career, which have had a lasting impact on his work.
JournalNG had reported that The Kano//Jigawa Command of Nigeria Customs Service collected a total of N40,899,853,774.03 as revenue from January to April 2024 which N28,584,442,644.48 higher than the N12,315,411,129.55 that was collected in the first four months of 2023, showing a 232.10% increase in collection.
Under Comptroller Chana,the Command has been steadily focused in collection of revenue and trade facilitation without compromising on its anti-smuggling mandate as the Controller stepped up on robust stakeholder engagement harping on compliance to protect the nation’s economy.
