The Ports and Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has recorded an impressive revenue performance in 2025, generating over ₦422.5 billion in December, thereby exceeding its total collection for the entire 2024 fiscal year.
The Area Controller, Comptroller Joe Anani, disclosed this on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, during the PTML Area Command/Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA) End of Year Party held in Lagos.
Anani stated that as of the close of work on Friday, December 12, 2025, the command had realised ₦422,584,608,992.26 in revenue, surpassing the ₦362.5 billion recorded in 2024 by more than ₦60 billion, even before the end of the year.
He attributed the remarkable revenue growth to improved operational efficiency, strict compliance enforcement, and the successful implementation of the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), also known as B’Odogwu, which the PTML Command piloted on behalf of the Service.
According to the Comptroller, the achievement aligns with the reform agenda of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, whose leadership has focused on strengthening revenue generation, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling operations across all commands.

Anani noted that enhanced trade facilitation measures have also supported revenue collection, with the command maintaining a two-hour clearance time for compliant Roll-on Roll-off (RoRo) cargo, a benchmark he aims to reduce to one hour in 2026 in line with the Service’s Time Release Study objectives.
He added that while revenue collection remained a priority, the command also recorded notable enforcement successes, including the interception of illicit and prohibited goods, most recently a ₦29.4 billion cocaine consignment handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
He emphasised that the command’s performance was driven by strong collaboration with sister security and regulatory agencies, including Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents (NCMDLCA), Association of Registered Freight Forwarders (AREFF) African Association Of Professional Freight Forwarders And Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON) ,the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services, Standards Organisation of Nigeria, and NAFDAC, as well as sustained cooperation from industry stakeholders.
He further acknowledged the support of terminal operators, particularly Grimaldi and Ports and Terminal Multiservices Limited, alongside freight forwarding and customs brokerage associations, whose cooperation he said contributed significantly to the command’s revenue and operational success.
Anani expressed optimism that with continued stakeholder engagement, technology deployment, and discipline, the PTML Area Command would consolidate its gains and achieve even higher revenue and efficiency benchmarks in 2026.
