Police Denies Imposing Curfew Ahead of Nationwide Protest

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has denied imposing curfew for all protests, ahead of planned nationwide protests to commence on August 1.

The Police made the clarification in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

According to the police, the clarification was in reaction to “It has come to our attention that some news outlets, particularly https://dockaysworld.com.ng, have reported that the Inspector General of Police has imposed a strict curfew starting at 4 p.m. for all protests. This information is entirely false and mischievous”, the statement reads in part.

The NPF explained that such information would have been communicated via the official Nigeria Police Force platforms.

Media organisations and the general public have been advised by the statement to disregard the misinformation and rely on official statements from the Nigeria Police Force or other authorised government agencies.
