
The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has officially handed over seized contraband, including Cannabis Sativa and counterfeit pharmaceutical products with a total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦35,488,500.00, to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
This was disclosed in a press release by the public relations officer of the command, Assistant Superintendent Of Customs II, Abdulmalik Abiodun Akintola, and the handover ceremony took place on July 3, 2025, which is a demonstration of the NCS’s commitment to inter-agency collaboration in the fight against smuggling and transnational crime.
According to the press release the handover underscores the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi,policy thrust collaborate with sister agencies to uphold national security and public health.
The Oyo/Osun Area Command remains committed to upholding national security and public health through robust enforcement and inter-agency cooperation and the NDLEA with NAFDAC will conduct further investigations and take necessary action on the seized contraband.
