NSML Rebrands, Achieves 85 Percent Milestone in Nigerianization Project


THE leadership of the NLNG Shipping and Marine Services Limited (NMSL) has said that it has concluded its Nigerianization project and pegged it at 85 percent of Nigerians within the NLNG and its subsidiaries.

Speaking with Newsmen in Lagos, Managing Director of NSML, Abdulkadir Ahmed said that the company had to peg the Nigerianization project because of its international outlook so it can allow for cultural fertilization of its operations.

Ahmed who spoke shortly after the unveiling of a new NSML logo also stated that the company’s vision is to have a full complement of Nigerians to man its vessels adding that, that has already been achieved.

He said: “Our vision is to have a full complement of staff that are Nigerians to man our vessels 100 percent.

“However, because we are also an international company, in the sense that our services are international, there is a need for cultural exchanges and that is what we have done , to keep the target at 85 percent.

“We have attained 85 percent a few years ago and we currently have a full complement of Nigerians that are able to manage our vessels.

“We would always remain a Nigerian company, that is our vision, in our purpose, it is always going to be placing ourselves in front and center when it comes to Like we have always said, going by the vision and purpose, it is about that element of ensuring international standard when it comes to shipping and marine services.

“I have always said this, when it comes to shipping and marine services, there is nothing like local standard, there is nothing like Nigerian standard, we are a Nigerian company providing shipping and marine services that meets international standards.”
