To further deepen the provision of quality healthcare services to the people of Rivers State, the state chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association, has held a meeting with the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) to bolster collaborations and enhance their strategic partnership.
The position of NMA was made known when the leadership of the association visited the Acting Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP, Dr. Vetty Agala, in her office in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
At the meeting, Chairman of NMA, Rivers State branch, Dr. Diamond Tamunokuro confirmed the collaboration with RIVCHPP, especially during its upcoming Physicians Week and the medical outreaches scheduled for Aluu and Okochiri communities.
Also, the Public Relations officer (PRO) of the association, Dr. Siene Orogun, said the NMA is proud of the giant strides so far made by the Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP, Dr. Vetty Agala in efforts aimed at transforming the programme into one of the fastest growing health insurance schemes in the country.
Responding, Agala, who commended the leadership of NMA and all members of the association for their support and collaboration, expressed the agency’s readiness and willingness to continue to partner the association and others, who are interested in ensuring quality healthcare services for Rivers people.
Agala assured that officials of RIVCHPP will be on ground at the proposed Physicians Week and medical outreaches to enroll more beneficiaries into the programme so as to continue to access affordable healthcare even after the medical and surgical outreaches.
