In a press statement signed by the National Public Relations Officer , Assistant Comptroller Abdullahi Maiwada on 10th September, 2025, a total of 3,927 positions across various cadres including Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Customs Assistant roles were declared vacant as the upcoming CBT reflects the agency’s continued push for transparency and fairness.

According to Maiwada, the shortlisted candidates will undertake the CBT remotely, using laptops or desktop computers with webcams and full screen capabilities, as mobile phones will not be supported. Facial recognition technology will be employed for identity verification, and the system is designed to automatically log out participants for actions suggestive of malpractice, such as background noise, excessive movement, or window switching during the test.

To prepare applicants, he said the service has scheduled a mandatory pre-test session two days before the main exam. Each candidate will receive separate links for both the pre-test and the actual CBT. Notably, those applying for Superintendent Cadre roles will be required to sit for an additional test in a subsequent phase, while candidates for other cadres will not.

The Customs PRO reiterated the service commitment to a merit based and transparent recruitment process, emphasising that all official updates will be communicated through verified channels . The service also warned against relying on unverified sources or social media platforms, stressing that no payments are required at any stage of the recruitment.
