
Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi has announced that the service Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), also known as B’Odogwu is being integrated into the National Single Window (NSW) which comes live early 2026.
Speaking at a strategic engagement with members of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) in Lagos, Adeniyi said the NCS
will continue to streamline trade adding with digital transformation, automated risk assessment and other avenues.
Speaking on the recently announced suspension of free on board (FOB) levy collection by the federal government, Adeniyi said the situation has created room for deeper dialogue between the customs and manufacturers in the country.
The CGC described manufacturers as people with voices that matter adding that the play strategic roles in the country’s industrial competitiveness and economic stability.
According to him,manufacturing drives innovation, create jobs and this Lagos meeting will be more of many similar sessions to be held in future.
Speaking earlier, President of MAN, Otunba Francis Meshioye said the meeting is important as it is coming at a time it’s members are going through difficulties with regards to the 4 percent FOB collection and B’Odogwu.
Meshioye recalled that MAN has a history of robust relationship with NCS as a trade group and member of the customs board. He added that the association has always maintained a good dialogue channel with NCS over the years while urging for increased collaboration.
