NCAA Summons Domestic Airlines to Address Air Travel Issues, Unruly Behaviour, Unresolved Refund
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has invited all domestic airlines to a meeting to deal with pressing issues affecting the aviation sector such as flight disruption, unresolved refund and passengers unruly behaviour.
According to the NCAA Director , Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu who disclosed this on his X account, other issues to be discussed include introduction of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) bagtags and flight monitoring technology, enforcement of phone switch-off instruction and protection for cabin crew and improved travel experience for passengers.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 10th September , 2025 at the NCAA headquarters in Abuja.
Achimugu had earlier complained that airline staff on many occasions avoid attending to disappointed passengers, while they leave the NCAA Consumer Protection officers to do their jobs for them.
He emphasised that for infractions that are sanctionable, the Authority will apply the fullest measures possible.
