National Single Window: Fakolade Lauds Ndigbo Amaka Traders Group, NCS for Promoting Awareness

Screenshot 20251019 202411Fakolade who was represented by Chief Uche Ejesieme in a goodwill message on Wednesday October 16, 2025 urged the group to continually cascade the message to all its members ahead of the take off date of March 2026.

Ejesieme who spoke virtually at the meeting expressed Fakolade’s delight at the level of engagement the project is eliciting in the business community across the country especially amongst importers, exporters, manufacturers, licensed customs agents and freight forwarding practitioners.

Screenshot 20251019 202426Fakolade described the timing of the summit as quite apt, especially coming at a time when the National Single window project is at the front burner of National discuss.

The project office in conjunction with other agencies like the Nigeria Customs Service has been on the vanguard in the sensitisation of critical stakeholders on the Federal Government’s resolve to create a tech driven platform in the trade ecosystem that will incorporate all Federal government Revenue related Agencies as well as regulatory bodies.

Screenshot 20251019 202445He acknowledged that the team has studied and monitored progress made in countries like Singapore, Kenya, etc where Single window platform is doing great in their economy, benchmarking it’s performance for domestication.

He stated that it’s high time the country assumed it rightful place as an economic powerhouse in Africa and became a buisness hub not only in the sub region but globally

Highlighting the merits, he stated that the National Single window project, when fully deployed will deal with recurring challenges hitherto experienced in the trade Value chain by eliminating unnecessary bureaucratic bottlenecks, enhance speedy clearance process, reduce cost of doing Buisness , promote transparency and predictability .
Noting the streamlining the processes and procedures will enable economic growth projections for the country, in view of the anticipated one trillion dollar economy by 2030.

” The National Single window project team secretariat have been organising Stakeholders’ forum in conjunction with the Nigeria customs service on sensitisation campaign through Stakeholders’ forum across the Six Geopolitical zones, started with Lagos on 29 January 2025 and 9 Oct 9 2025 at the prestigious Marriot and oriental hotels lagos respectively.

The train moved to portharcourt on Thursday 19 October at the Presidential Hotel , while Tuesday October 21 is slated for kano .
He charged the market associations to help syndicate the sensitisation drive to the importers and exporters in their association to enable them.taje advantage of the NSW project and key into it .

Meanwhile the head of secretariat has also commended the Nigeria Customs Service for its pioneering efforts in developing trade facilitation tools like Authorised economic operator(AEO)an advancement from fast track, One stop shop, Time Release Studies, B’Odogwu etc, and noted that NSW will consolidate and harmonise the competences of all critical Government agencies to build a robust platform .
