MV Great Lagos will Develop Maritime Sector, says Governor Sanwo-Olu


The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has said the arrival of “MV Great Lagos” , a ship owned by Grilmaldi Group marks a new chapter in the maritime history of Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.

While representing the Governor, Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hazmat made this known at the maiden voyage of the ship at PTML Terminal, Tincan Island Port , Apapa Lagos.

According to him, the vessel is a great contribution to the development of maritime engineering and also strengthens the bond between Grimaldi Group and Lagos State.

Governor Sanwo-Olu however, recognized the unwavering effort of the Grimaldi Group in contributing to the development of Nigeria economy and Africa as a whole through their subsidiary, PTML Terminal.

He pointed that the vessel is not just a means of transportation but an instrument of innovation in the maritime industry.


He revealed that other seaports under construction in Lagos will also boost the economy of the state.

“This vessel, owned by the Grimaldi Group, represents more than a remarkable feat of maritime engineering; it signifies the deep and enduring ties between the Grimaldi Group and Lagos State”.
