Maritime Workers Commend Ubong Essien for Strengthening Relationship Between Union and NIMASA


Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, President General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has commended Ubong Essien, the formers Special Assistant to Dr Bashir Jamoh Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) on Media and Strategy for Strengthening the relationship between the union and the the maritime regulatory agency.

Adeyanju’s commendation on behalf of the union which was conveyed in a letter dated 15th September 2023, lauded Essien for what the union described as fairness and magnanimity that have greatly impacted communication between the union and NIMASA

The union leader, who is also a Deputy President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), extolled Essien’s disposition to service as a virture worthy of emulation and praised the former SA’s moral courage deployed to service in the maritime sector through NIMASA

He also thanked Essien for bringing so much change to the outlook of NIMASA while describing his personality as unique

Adeyanju wrote “On behalf of the entire membership of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria, I want to convey our heart-felt gratitude to you Sir in recognition and appreciation of your immense contribution and support to the Union throughout your tenure as Special Adviser, Communications and Media to the Director General Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.

“We are grateful for the acceptance and goodwill with which you engaged the Union, the fairness of dealings, and your magnanimity of disposition which have greatly impacted in the improved relationship in communication between the Union and NIMASA.

“The administrative conduciveness you have helped to foster at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency is worthy of emulation and will serve as an ever-glowing beacon of hope and inspiration for the people you are leaving behind.
We value and salute your moral courage and it is our deepest and supplications to the Almighty that you shall grow from strength to strength; and that your journey through life as well as professional sojourn will continue to witness unprecedented growth and boundless blessings.

“As your tenure of appointment expires as Special Assistant on communication and strategy to the director general, NIMASA, we wish to thank you for bringing so much change to the outlook of NIMASA vis-a-vis the general public.

Essien, who has since resumed as Dean of the School of Eloquence, operating in Lagos and Abuja completed his three year service term as SA to NIMASA DG in August 30, 2023
