Lekki Port Reassures of More Infrastructural Development as Management Meets Akhtar, Shippers Council’s ES,

The Managing Director of Lekki Port, Mr. Wang Qiang, has stated the port’s commitment to keep improving on it’s infrastructure to boost and strengthen Nigeria’s position as a strong maritime country when he led his team to visit the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Pius Akutah.
While highlighting the port’s status as a Public Private Partnership (PPP) project,Qiang emphasizing the need for investor collaboration to drive the port’s sustainability.
He also requested the NSC’s intervention in reviewing the port’s tariffs, citing significant expenditure demands.
Mr. Qiang also expressed the port’s commitment to investing in infrastructure, attracting investors, and achieving transshipment goals, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the federal government
The meeting explored areas of collaboration, with both parties seeking to enhance the competitiveness and efficiency of Nigeria’s maritime industry.
Akutah spoke on the need for the Lekki Deep Sea Port to adopt advanced technological innovations to enhance its competitiveness.
Akutah described the Lekki Port as a modern, world-class facility that should set the standard for excellence in shipping operations in Nigeria and the region.
He reaffirmed the NSC’s commitment to promoting investment predictability and ensuring the long-term sustainability and profitability of investments in the sector.
