Lagos, NPA Strengthen Partnership on Port Security, Trade Facilitation

The Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration aimed at improving port security and enhancing trade facilitation.

20260201 071653Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, 30 January 2026, received the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, at the Lagos House, Marina.

The meeting focused on fostering a stronger working relationship between the NPA and host communities within Lagos, with particular emphasis on sustaining peace around port environments, improving security architecture, and creating a more efficient operating climate for maritime trade.

20260201 071647Governor Sanwo-Olu underscored the strategic importance of Lagos ports to Nigeria’s economy, noting that enhanced cooperation among stakeholders remains critical to addressing security challenges and ensuring seamless cargo movement.

On his part, Dr. Dantsoho reiterated the NPA’s commitment to working closely with the Lagos State Government and host communities to promote safe, secure, and globally competitive ports.
