Kano CP Urges Officers to Deepen Crime-Fighting Efforts, Uphold Human Rights, Reject Corruption

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, on 29th September, 2025, convened a meeting of supervising officers to review the Command’s crime-fighting efforts and deliberate on strategies to further strengthen security across the state.

Screenshot 20250929 234933During the meeting, the CP expressed appreciation for the officers’ commitment to maintaining law and order, while charging them to improve and sustain their performance, particularly in the last quarter of the year when security needs are heightened.

CP Bakori emphasized professionalism and strict adherence to the rule of law in the discharge of duties. He warned officers against meddling in civil matters, including land disputes, and urged them to protect and respect the fundamental human rights of citizens.

Screenshot 20250929 234958He further directed officers to shun extortion and all forms of corrupt practices that could erode public trust in the Police. The CP also encouraged them to remain vigilant, proactive, and result-oriented in tackling security challenges, while ensuring the safety of lives and property in Kano State.

In a related development, the Kano State Police Command, in collaboration with the Kano State Accountability Forum on Education (K-SAFE), organized a lecture on School Safety for police officers.

The lecture, delivered by Dr. Auwal Halilu of Bayero University Kano and a member of K-SAFE, focused on strategies for securing schools and safeguarding students, teachers, and educational infrastructure.

The training was designed to enhance officers’ capacity in protecting schools, fostering safe-school-corridors, and creating a conducive learning environment that supports academic excellence.

The Command recognizes the critical importance of safeguarding educational institutions to enable students pursue their studies without fear or insecurity.

The Kano State Police Command appreciates the partnership with K-SAFE and looks forward to sustained collaboration in promoting safety and security in Kano State. The Command remains fully committed to working with stakeholders to address security challenges and ensure the well-being of all residents.
