The federal government has sanctioned N21.68 billion for the first phase of construction of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) headquarters in Abuja.
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, announced the approval on 26th February 2026 during the groundbreaking ceremony for the new corporate headquarters. He stated that the contractor, MESSRS NHD Interbiz Projects Ltd., is expected to complete the project within 30 months, describing it as a strategic initiative under Executive Order 12.
Keyamo emphasised the government’s commitment to modernizing infrastructure crucial for the safety, efficiency, and growth of Nigerian aviation. He noted that agencies under the ministry had long operated in silos and outdated structures.
“The new headquarters will integrate executive management with a state-of-the-art Air Traffic Management Centre, providing a secure, technology-enabled environment for managing Nigeria’s sovereign airspace,” Keyamo said.

He added that the project strictly adheres to the Public Procurement Act 2007 following a transparent and competitive tender process and aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Keyamo further praised NAMA’s management for their diligence in structuring the agreement.

“We will hold them to the highest standards of quality and timelines as stipulated in the agreement. This groundbreaking is not an isolated event but a deliberate action pursuant to Executive Order 12. It will enhance efficiency, safety oversight, and real-time operational responsiveness. This facility consolidates NAMA’s administrative and operational functions into a modern, purpose-built environment that fosters innovation, collaboration, and boosts staff morale,” he stated.
NAMA Managing Director, Ahmed Farouk, highlighted the importance of partnerships within the aviation ecosystem. “To the contractor, NHD Interbiz Projects Ltd., we expect nothing short of excellence and timely completion. As we turn the sod today, we are laying the foundation for the future of air navigation services in Nigeria,” he said.
