Export : NEPC Introduces Digital Platform for Economic Growth


The Nigeria Export Promotion Council is to unveil a digital platform aimed at harnessing the potential of service exports and e-commerce for sustainable economic growth.

The Executive Director of the Council, Mrs. Nonye Ayeni, announced this in Abuja at a conference on service exports and e-commerce.

The conference on service export and e-commerce, which is the first, was aimed at unlocking the nation’s wealth of services and products for economic diversification.

The Executive Director, Nigeria Export Promotion Council, Mrs. Nonye Ayeni, observed that Nigeria was yet to harness the vast potential inherent in this sector.

Mrs. Ayeni maintained that service exports and e-commerce contributed a higher percentage to the country’s gross domestic product than agriculture.

The Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka Anita, lauded the agency for its timely initiative and steadfast commitment to advancing the export sector.

The Minister represented by the Special Adviser to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Goni Ahmed, said the initiative to develop a platform dedicated to boosting Nigeria’s service export was timely and strategic.

The Managing Director, NEXIM Bank, Mr. Abubakar Bello called for pro-active steps to subdue challenges hindering service export to include infrastructure, data gathering and data collection.


The theme of the conference is Charting the Course for Nigeria’s Service Export through Digital platform.
