Daniyan who spoke at the recently held Comptroller General of Customs Conference in Abuja, said the many incidents of under payment accusations against owners of some vehicles where made out of poor knowledge about how duty payments for such automobiles are computed.

According to him, some of the officers upon seeing the fully repaired and fitted vehicles assume that they were imported into the country in such complete and usable state. He added that many of such SKD, CKD and accidented vehicles were not roadworthy at the time of importation.
