In a statement issued Wednesday in Lagos, the company’s Head of Media Communications, Anthony Chiejina, confirmed a ₦65 reduction, bringing the ex-depot price down to ₦825 per litre from the previous ₦890 per litre. This follows an earlier ₦60 cut in February, making a total reduction of ₦125 in 26 days.

The company noted that the new pricing means Lagos residents will pay between ₦860 and ₦865 per litre at the pump starting Thursday, February 27. It described the move as a relief measure, particularly with Ramadan approaching, and a step towards supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery policies.

Chiejina highlighted Dangote’s consistent efforts in reducing fuel costs, recalling that in December 2024, the company slashed petrol prices by ₦70.50 during the holiday season to ease the cost of living.

The refinery assured the public of ample fuel supply, with over 500 million litres in storage and a 650,000 barrels-per-day refining capacity, exceeding Nigeria’s daily petrol demand of 385,000 barrels.

Dangote’s fuel will be available at MRS Holdings, AP (Ardova Petroleum), and Heyden stations nationwide at competitive rates. It urged marketers to align with this initiative to ensure Nigerians benefit fully.
