Customs Seme Area Command Decorates 135 Newly Promoted Officers

The Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has decorated 135 officers of the Command who benefited from the recent promotion exercise by the Management of the service.

While addressing the newly promoted officers at ECOWAS Joint Border Post, Seme, Krake, the Controller of the Command, Comptroller Kayode Kolade said the new positions attained by the officers come with huge responsibilities.

He congratulated them and urged the officers that were not promoted to exercise patience and keep working hard.

“Your elevation is recognition of exceptional courage, integrity and professionalism. As we celebrate the success, we should also know that it comes with huge responsibilities. Remember , leadership is not about titles or position but a huge responsibility.I encourage you to be role models, mentors and coaches. Lead with humility, empathy and compassion.

“To those who did not receive the promotion this time , I urge you not to be discouraged.Promotion comes from God ; continue to work hard, exercise patience and your time will come. Do not relent or get demoralized.

“Recall that the NCS board in its 61st regular meeting , chaired by minister of finance Mr. Wale Edun approved the promotion of 4,291 senior officers, while the NCS Management in its 10th meeting chaired by the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi on the 29th November, 2024 approved the promotion of 1,419 junior officers across ranks.135 officers benefited from the promotion for both senior and Junior ranks in the command.

“Overall, 89 senior officers in the Command were promoted while 44 officers were promoted in the junior ranks.

Husseini Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer of the Command who is now Chief Superintendent of Customs expressed excitement for the promotion.He assured that the promoted officers will continue working hard for better achievements in the service.

He encouraged officers who were not promoted to remain dedicated as they will also be celebrated soon.

“I feel elated and I want to thank the Comptroller General of Customs and his management team for finding us worthy of this promotion. I want to assure them that we will not let them down, we will continue to strive for excellence, we will continue to do our best for the Nigerian Customs Service and Nigeria at large.

“I encourage my colleagues who were not promoted to keep working hard and not to get demoralized.

“They should up their games, pray and be patient .I am assuring them that by next time they will get it by the grace of God.”, he said.
