
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has expressed deep condolences to the family of the late Dr. Bature Abdulaziz, a renowned Kano based businessman and respected leader in the trading community, who passed away after a brief illness.
Abdulaziz, until his death, was a prominent figure in commerce and trade, serving as President of the Kano State Traders Union and holding key leadership positions in several other business associations. His passing has been described as a major loss to the business community and the nation at large.
Leading a condolence delegation on behalf of the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, the Acting Customs Area Controller, Kano/Jigawa Area Command, Deputy Comptroller of Customs , Usman Adamu, paid a visit to the family of the deceased in Kano.

The delegation was received by the President of the Kano Business Community Association, Alhaji Sabiu Bako, alongside members of the Abdulaziz family and other stakeholders. While delivering the message of the CGC, DC Adamu described the late Abdulaziz as a dependable partner and bridge between the NCS and the trading community. He noted that the deceased was widely known for promoting dialogue, cooperation and mutual understanding in customs business relations.
According to him, Abdulaziz’s contributions went beyond commerce, as he consistently played a stabilising role in fostering trust and cordial engagement between traders and the Service.
Responding on behalf of the business community, Alhaji Sabiu Bako thanked the Comptroller General of Customs for the honour and concern shown through the condolence visit. He assured the NCS that the Kano business community would continue to uphold the values and legacies of the late Abdulaziz, especially in maintaining a strong and harmonious relationship with the Service.

Prayers were offered for Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him eternal rest, give his family and the people of Kano State the strength to bear the loss.
