Customs: Miko Gets Certificate of Excellence at CGC Conference for Uncovering Unpaid ₦241b Revenue

IMG 20251123 WA0154Presenting certificates to Miko and others on Friday in Abuja during the just concluded Comptroller General of Customs Conference, Adeniyi commended the officer’s dedication and commitment to duty which contributes to the overall success of the Nigeria Customs

Miko had earlier disclosed how his team worked out the discovery of huge amounts of unpaid duties in Apapa Port with the support of the service management and the Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Tarriff and Trade. He said the unpaid sums dated a few years back and efforts are being made to achieve full recovery.

IMG 20251123 WA0153JournalNG reports that some payments have being received from the companies listed as owing arrears of duties from the discovery after persistence, follow ups and strategic stakeholders engagement.

Findings by JournalNG also reveal that while the service is applying persuasion to achieve full recovery, it has not left out the options of applying sanctions like blocking of licences
