Comptroller Joy Edelduok has assumed office as the new Customs Area Controller of Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) after a brief handover ceremony she had with Acting Assistant Comptroller General Martina Tilley-Gyado in Lagos on Friday.
Speaking at the event the new Area Controller urged officers to redouble their efforts at collection of revenue as that will be the topmost priority of her leadership of the command
According to her, revenue collection is the major Key Performance Index to determine officers productivity and she promised to pursue it with figure to surpass the feats achieved by her predecessors
She added that her leadership of the command will embrace positive innovations that are legitimate to make the KLTC more business friendly while assuring stakeholders of efficiency
On time release study which is one of the programmes initiated by the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, the new Controller disclosed that efforts will be made to achieve 48hour clearance of cargoes
She also promised robust collaboration with sister government agencies and wider consultation with stakeholders to achieve all federal government objectives within the NCS area of responsibility
Tilley-Gyado, the former Controller of the command who was recently appointed Acting ACG in the NCS Headquarters Human Resources Department described Edelduok as an officer capable of leading KLT to greater heights
According to the Acting ACG, KLT command collected over N40b revenue between January and May 2024 which is more than doubly of the N16b collected within same period of 2023
