Customs Intercepts 2 Cars Stolen From Canada at Apapa Port

Operatives of Nigeria Customs Service, Apapa Port Command have intercepted two vehicles stolen from Canada at the point of entry in Lagos.

Customs Area Controller of the command, Babatunde Olomu who disclosed this to newsmen at a briefing in Lagos on Thursday, May 22, 2025 , said the cars were hidden in a container and falsely declared as food items.

Giving particulars on the cars, Olomu said they are 2024 model Lexus RX 450 with chassis number JTJCJNGA6R2017707 and a 2023 Lexus RX 350 with chasing number 2T2BAMCA6PCO32741
both hidden in a 1×40 container with number MRKU 0904594.

Olomu said no suspect has been arrested in connection with the seizures and efforts are on to apprehend the perpetrators

Seizure of the stolen cars was announced as part of recent anti smuggling onslaught which resulted in a total of ₦1.094tr duty paid value items achieved by the command.

The command made other seizures of prohibited drugs in four units of forty foot containers, one container of used clothing and another one container carrying the stolen cars
