According to a press release issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs I, Akintola Abiodun Abdulmalik, on 29 April 2026, the visit, which took place on Tuesday, 28 April 2026, was led by the FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde Sunday Dahunsi, who headed a delegation to the Customs Command headquarters.

The visiting team was received by the Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Wale Moses Adewole, alongside members of the Command’s management team. Dahunsi, while appreciating the reception, described the engagement as a reflection of the longstanding and productive relationship between both agencies in the state and beyond.

He commended the NCS for its continued efforts in securing the nation’s borders against the influx of prohibited and harmful goods, noting that such actions play a critical role in safeguarding public health and national security. He also reaffirmed the FRSC’s readiness to deepen collaboration through joint operations, improved information sharing, and capacity building initiatives designed to enhance operational efficiency.

In his response, Deputy Comptroller Adewole expressed appreciation for the visit and acknowledged the FRSC’s critical role in promoting road safety and reducing accidents across the country. He emphasised that sustained cooperation between both institutions remains essential in achieving their shared mandate of protecting lives, ensuring public safety, and supporting national development goals.

The visit further highlighted ongoing efforts by both the Nigeria Customs Service and the Federal Road Safety Corps to build stronger institutional partnerships that support effective enforcement, safer roads, and improved inter agency coordination.
