In his statement, Comptroller Bashir highlighted the successful interception of two vehicles laden with 13,890 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in 554 jerry cans, along with two Toyota Hiace buses used for the smuggling operation.
He said the seizures were made at the Sahuda and Belel axis, near the Nigeria-Cameroon border, based on credible intelligence received by the Command.
“The cumulative Duty Paid Value (DPV) of these seized items stands at Twelve Million, Fifty Thousand, Seven Hundred Naira (N12,050,700.00),” Bashir explained.
Comptroller Bashir reiterated the Command’s commitment to national security, economic stability, and public safety through rigorous border management and collaboration with other security agencies.
“Our operatives are dedicated to fostering a culture of security, stability, and prosperity. We have declared total war against smuggling activities and will not relent in our anti-smuggling drives,” Bashir stated.
He also commended the officers for their diligence and urged them to intensify their efforts to suppress smuggling within the confines of the law.
