Comptroller Onyeka Announces N159billion Revenue in August 2025 As 87% Officers Get Promotion 

The Tin Can Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service under its Area Controller, Comptroller Frank Onyeka has announced that it recorded N159billion revenue in the month of August 2025.

This is even as he revealed that 87% of all the officers that sat for promotion examinations benefited from the latest tsunami of elevations recently granted by the Nigeria Customs Service Board.

 

Compt Onyeka made these statements on Wednesday while decorating the newly promoted officers including the Public Relations Officer of the command, Oscar Ivara, who is now a Chief Supretendent of Customs (CSC) and his Second in Command, Mohammed Zubairu who is now an Assistant Superintendent of Customs 1(ASC1)

 

Speaking at the ceremony, Compt Onyeka appreciated the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi deeming it fit to encourage the officers while they do their job.

“The promotion means that the little you have done is appreciated and acknowledged.

I am lucky to have this magnitude of officers promoted under my watch, I therefore appreciate the CGC for deeming it fit to appreciate people who have done their best for the service.

 

“May I therefore task the officers that, to whom much is given, much is expected, I would not want us to drop the ball, the Tin Can Port Command from the fillers i am getting, we are not doing badly, I am not supposed to assess myself, but the stakeholders who are taking note of our activities have confirmed that we are not doing badly, but we will do better.

“We were fortunate to do N159billion in the month of August, this is unprecedented in the history of the command. This is the effort of every officer here, we would all take the glory.

“Virtually every officer that sat for promotion exams in Tin Can Island Command got promoted. 87% of the officers got this promotion and this is a testament of the kind of person you are working with, and the person you are as well.

 

“Let’s keep pushing the B’Odogwu platform, it is doing well, and I know it would take us to the state of eldorado.

“A few of the officers who didn’t get this promotion, I don’t want you to see it as the end of the world. You just have to count your blessings and name them one by one” Onyeka stated.
