
Chief Superintendent of Customs Tahir Balarabe has emerged as the service Best Public Relations Officer for the year at the recently held Comptroller General of Customs Awards in Abuja.

According to the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi,Balarabe bagged the award for his outstanding commitment in deploying his position as image maker of the Kano/Jigawa Command to expand the frontiers of stakeholders engagement using physical and virtual modes

With demonstrated capacity to pass the NCS messages in simplified manner to stakeholders, including members of the business community in Kano and Jigawa States, CSC Balarabe receives feedbacks for analysis and developmental purposes useful for the service decision making

JournalNG reports that the Kano/Jigawa Customs PRO is fast at identifying newsworthy angles for any narrative, maintains robust media relation and has earned the trust of the stakeholders while serving as customs image maker

He was noted for quickly seeing the bigger picture from smaller narratives exhibiting productive speed and composure even under pressure. With an obsession for all news concerning the Nigeria Customs Service, he has kept himself constantly abreast with various policies of government concerning import, export and excise and always willing to break it down for easy understanding.
CSC Balarabe who bridges the gap between his command and it’s stakeholders, has been a resourceful liaison person, very accessible and willing to communicate for developmental purposes including during crises situations

As one who passionately protects the beautiful reputation of the NCS brand in his command, Balarabe recently served as Chairman of the PR Sub Group for the 2025 CGC Conference where he also performed excellently.
According to JournalNG report, his award is coming same day when his Area Controller, Comptroller Dalhatu Abubakar was honoured by the CGC as Area Controller of the Year 2025.
