The award will be presented at the AMJON Annual Conference, scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Rockview Hotel, Apapa, Lagos. The event will bring together key industry players, policymakers, and stakeholders in the maritime and trade sectors.

Egede, a seasoned maritime administrator with over 30 years of experience, has played a pivotal role in advancing trade facilitation and improving logistics efficiency across Nigeria’s ports. Currently serving as Assistant General Manager in the Managing Director’s Division of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), he has earned a reputation for professionalism, integrity, and innovative problem-solving.

One of Egede’s major achievements includes his strategic interventions in addressing the traffic congestion around the Lagos Ports access roads. His leadership in this area resulted in more effective traffic management systems, contributing to improved port accessibility, reduced turnaround time for cargo movement, and a steady rise in export volumes. His efforts also played a role in Nigeria recording a national trade surplus in 2024.

His hands-on experience and forward-thinking approach have consistently driven operational reforms within the authority.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT) and a member of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Egede’s contributions to policy formulation, logistics optimization, and maritime strategy are widely acknowledged both within and outside Nigeria.
