ACG Edelduok Commends Oyo/Osun Customs for Significant Contribution to National Revenue Generation
The Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) in charge of Excise, Free Trade Zone and Industrial Incentives, Eghosa Joy Edelduok, has commended the Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service for its significant contribution to national revenue generation, revealing that the command accounts for about one-third of the Service’s overall excise revenue collection.
Edelduok made this known on Thursday, 9 April 2026 , during a stakeholders’ engagement with excise traders and industry operators at the Operational Headquarters of the Oyo/Osun Area Command.
According to Abdulmalik Abiodun Akintola, the Public Relations Officer of the command who disclosed this in a press release, she acknowledged the vital role played by excise factories in strengthening the Service’s revenue base, praising stakeholders for their continued compliance with excise regulations. She urged them to sustain their cooperation to enable the Command and the Service to not only meet but surpass their annual revenue targets.
Edelduok charged officers supervising excise factories to remain diligent and committed to ensuring the Command achieves its set targets for the year.
In his remarks, the Acting Customs Area Controller of the Oyo/Osun Area Command, Deputy Comptroller Wale Moses Adewole, expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the Service’s management team for establishing the committee led by the Assistant Comptroller-General.
He noted that the initiative has created an important platform for engaging stakeholders, promoting compliance with excise regulations, and identifying operational challenges affecting excise operators.
The engagement ended with an interactive session during which stakeholders raised concerns and sought clarification on key operational issues. The Nigeria Customs Service assured participants of its continued collaboration and support to enhance compliance and improve operational efficiency.
