Kano, Jigawa Customs Made Highest Collection from October to December 2023, Says Comptroller Chana

The Controller of Kano/ Jigawa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Dauda Chana has said the Command has achieved a milestone as it has recorded the highest revenue collection in its history between October and December 2023.
He disclosed this at the decoration ceremony of over 70 newly promoted officers in Kano recently where he emphasized that the Command is making efforts daily to ensure that no contraband crosses over to either Nigeria or the Republic of Niger through the borders.
He urged the newly promoted officers to work towards being at the peak of their careers.
He said, ” From October to December 2023, we have had the best revenue in the history of Kano/Jigawa Command. It is the highest”.
“From both sides, the officers in charge of the border are doing their best to see that nothing crosses over to either of the countries; Republic of Niger and Nigeria
” Promotion comes from God and every promotion comes with higher responsibilities. I believe that our officers will do their best. I have been talking to them and I will keep on telling them to justify the elevation in their career”.
He added that the closure of the border between Nigeria and Niger has drastically reduced the incident of smuggling across both countries and that the operations of an inland dry port in Kano are helping to decongest the seaports in the country.
