Oyetola to Deliver Nigeria’s Blue Economy Message to Global Maritime Audience in London

Nigeria’s Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola is leading the country’s delegation to the 33rd session of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) General Assembly, in London from Nov. 27 to Dec. 6, 2023 where he will deliver the country’s message on the new ministry to a global maritime audience for the first time

A release by Ismail Omipidan, the minister’s media aide confirmed Oyetola’s arrival in London for the sessions which include elections into the Council of the IMO

 


According to Omipidan, Other members of the delegation expected to attend the session are: Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani; Director, Marine Safety and Security, Babatunde Bombata and Direvtor General of NIMASA, Dr. Bashir Jamoh.

The IMO General Assembly is the highest governing body of all member states in the maritime domain, responsible for approving the work programme and budget, determining financial arrangements, and electing the IMO Council.The assembly convenes every two years, and this year’s session provides a platform for Oyetola to deliver Nigeria’s message to the Assembly and actively participate in shaping maritime policies at the global level.
