Nigerian chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci has surpassed her initial 96-hour target and has now achieved a 100-hour cooking Guinness World record time for an individual.
Hilda started her journey on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 4pm Nigerian time, and on Monday morning, surpassed the record held by Indian chef Lata Tandon for the longest cooking duration.
The Lagos-based chef was initially scheduled to stop at 4pm today culminating in her former 96-hour target, but she went ahead to add another four hours.
Supporters at the cook-a-thon which took place at the Amore Gardens, Lekki, are at the moment cheering the young chef as well as celebrating her for achieving the milestone.
If certified after the 100th hour, the Akwa Ibom born chef will be displacing Tondon who achieved the feat in 2019 with 87 hours 45 minutes record of uninterrupted cooking.
