The National President of the Nigerian Navy Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA), Mrs. Aisha Idi Abbas has commissioned four newly constructed classroom blocks and a remodeled music laboratory at NOWA Secondary School, Ojo, on Friday, February 13, 2026.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Abbas described the project as a significant milestone that underscores NOWA’s commitment to academic excellence and the welfare of naval families.
She said the facilities represent more than physical structures, noting that they reflect a shared vision to nurture the minds and secure the future of students within the naval community.

Mrs. Abbas acknowledged the unique challenges faced by naval families, including frequent relocations and the demands of service life, stressing that NOWA remains steadfast in ensuring access to quality and stable education.
She expressed gratitude to the Chief of Naval Staff, Principal Staff Officers at Naval Headquarters, and the school’s Parents Teachers Association (PTA) for their support and contributions toward the successful completion of the project.
Addressing the students, she urged them to make good use of the improved facilities, reminding them that the knowledge they acquire will be their greatest asset in serving Nigeria with honour.
She further pledged continued investment in education, welfare and empowerment programmes for naval families, noting that the initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Commandant of NOWA Secondary School, Ojo, Commander BM Inusa, in his welcome address described the commissioning of the new classrooms and remodeled Memorial Music Laboratory as a major milestone in the school’s growth and development.
He expressed appreciation to the NOWA National President, members of the Global National Executive, the Educational Committee, senior officers, ratings, PTA executives, vice principals, teaching and non teaching staff, and other distinguished guests for gracing the occasion.
Commander Inusa noted that the construction of additional classrooms would provide a more conducive learning environment for students, while the upgraded music laboratory, equipped with modern instruments, would enhance creativity and talent development. He emphasised that the project goes beyond physical structures and reflects a collective commitment to quality education and holistic student development.
He expressed confidence that the new facilities would positively impact academic performance and extracurricular excellence, while urging students to make judicious use of the resources provided.
