
From January to December, 2025, the Murtala Muhammed Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has generated a total of N179,910,971,102.81 from customs duties and related charges which shows a significant improvement of over N164,819,895,457 that was generated in the corresponding period in 2024.
The Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Michael Awe who disclosed this during a media briefing on 26th November, 2025 said this reflects an outstanding 9.16% increase, amounting to N15,091,075, 645. 81 growth.

He revealed that the Command has achieved 100.1% of its annual revenue target and is firmly on track to exceed it. According to him, the impressive performance reflects the Command’s unwavering commitment to efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
During the period, the Command successfully intercepted and seized the following prohibited items:. 3pkgs of Colorado CAT Leaf, 4pkgs of Nigeria Immigration Service uniform materials, 1pkg Two-way Radio Walkie Talkie, 1pkg of TIPPMANN Semi-Automatic 50/68 Calibre Magfed Paintball marker gun, 75pkgs of Pangolin Scales, 1pkg of Elephant Tusk, 2pkgs of Canadian Cannabis Sativa, 6pkgs of 225mg Tramadel Hydrochloride, 17pkgs of unregistered 300mg Pregabalin tablets, 5pkgs of unregistered 2mg Sardulud and 50mg Norflex tablets Il. 6pkgs of 225mg Tramadol Hydrochloride ,523pos of Signed peutsch Bank and AlB Bank cheques.

Comptroller Awe said the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the seizures is N7,201,895,232 and the Command was able to achieve the feat through robust intelligence gathering, strengthened surveillance efforts as well as effective collaboration with relevant partners.
The CAC explained that throughout the period under review, the Command sustained open and mutual cooperation with all stakeholders and sister agencies.
