
The Customs Area Controller of Oyo/Osun Area Command, Comptroller Gambo Iyere Aliyu, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Customs Service to strengthening inter-agency collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force to enhance security in Oyo State.
In a press statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer , Assistant Superintendent of Customs I, Abdulmalik Abiodun Akintola on 5th October, 2025 , this commitment was demonstrated during a courtesy visit by Comptroller Aliyu to the Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, at the Oyo State Police Command Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, on Friday, October 3, 2025.
During the visit, the CAC commended the Nigeria Police Force for its dedication and professionalism in safeguarding lives and property, as well as maintaining peace and order across the state. He described the Police as a vital partner in the collective effort to secure the nation, acknowledging their courage and resilience in policing a dynamic state like Oyo.
Aliyu emphasised that both agencies share a common goal of serving the nation and that sustainable success in tackling smuggling, border crimes, and other forms of economic sabotage can only be achieved through stronger collaboration in intelligence sharing and joint operations.
In his response, the Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, lauded the visit and assured of the Police Command’s continued partnership with the Nigeria Customs Service to ensure lasting peace and security within the state
