The Customs Area Controller of Federal Operations Unit, Zone C , Comptroller Bishir Abdullahi Balogun has told the 67 newly promoted officers of the Command that promotion in the Service is not a routine exercise but a reward for hard work, loyalty, and commitment to duty.
During the decoration ceremony , Comptroller Balogun added that the new positions come with greater responsibilities and expectations. He urged them to see the promotion as both a privilege and challenge.
He asserted that the command is committed to combating smuggling, generating revenue and facilitating trade.
“The Federal Operations Unit is a critical arm of the Service and the nation expects us to continue strengthening anti-smuggling operations, revenue recovery, and trade facilitation. Let me remind you that with promotion comes higher responsibility.You must therefore uphold the core values of the Nigeria Customs Service-integrity, transparency, and professionalism.
“I encourage all promoted officers to wear their new ranks with pride, humility, and renewed commitment to the Service and to Nigeria. For those who didn’t get the promotion, I encourage you to be strong and prepare harder next time.”
