The Customs Officers Wives Association (COWA),Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command Chapter has held it’s 2024 end of the year party with a promise to orhanise mentorship and train the trainers events in 2025.
Chairperson of the chapter,Mrs Maureen Daniyan who disclosed this on Thursday, December 19,2024 said her chapter is committed to positively touching lives, impacting homes and family members of customs officers while also ensuring that their immediate communities benefit too.
Mrs Daniyan said the gathering was planned to make everyone happy and share with the less privileged in the spirit of the yuletide season.
She added that 2025 shall feature more training and empowerment programmes to strengthen customs officers wives financially and provide needed support for widows of late officers too.
According to her,the chapter had achieved establishment of a functional skill acquisition centre , provision of oven gas cookers, mixers, start up capital and other items
She said the chapter recently organised a medical outreach event focusing on mental health and other issues of medical concern where medication and counseling were freely provided.
According to her,the chapter also provided free reading glasses after eye tests. She said in the spirit of the yuletide,she led her team on a visit to the female custodial centre at Kirikiri Correctional Facility in Lagos where donations were made in addition to counseling.
The 2024 end of the year party also featured games, drama, donation of food and cash to children and family members of officers.
Earlier in his address, Comptroller Tenny Mankini Daniyan, Customs Area Controller of PTML Command commended the COWA Chapter for their selfless activities and commitment to humanitarian causes.
