New NSCDC Commandant in Lagos Reassures of Protecting National Assets


Usman Ishaq Alfadarai has assumed office as Commandant of Lagos State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) on Monday, January 23,2023 with a reassurance to protect critical national assets and infrastructure, through robust engagement with stakeholders.

He is taking over following recent deployments approved by the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi.

Alfadarai, according to a press release, gave the reassurance of improved engagements while addressing officers and men under his watch in Lagos.

The release signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abolurin Oluwaseun expressed Alfadarai’s readiness to build on the Lagos NSCDC synergy with other security agencies and collaboration with stakeholders like traditional rulers, religious leaders, community heads and youth leaders ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Most recently, the new NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant had served as the Principal Staff Officer ( PSO ) to the Commandant General at the Corps headquaters

The new State Commandant was born in 1970 in Zaria Local Government Area ( LGA ) of Kaduna State.

He attended Salvation Army Primary School, Agege, between 1976 and 1982. He also attended Anwar-ul Islam College, Agege, between 1982 and 1987 both in Lagos.

After his secondary education, he attended School of Basic Studies, Bauchi State Polytechnic, Bauchi from 1987 to 1989. He then proceeded to the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from 1990 to 1993, where he bagged his Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science.

Alfadarai also holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration ( MPA ) from the p University of Lagos.

He was enlisted into the service in 2006 and rose through hardwork, dedication and commitment to the rank of Commandant of Corps.

He has also served in various capacities in the Corps in several States of the Federation, which include Divisional Officer of Giwa, Chikun, Jaba and also Jema’a LGA of Kaduna State; Head of Operations Department at Kano, Katsina and Zamfara State Commands; Head of Administration Department at Jigawa and Zamfara State Command.

In the course of his career, he also attended several courses, which include Disaster Management Simulation Training Exercise , Armed Force Simulation Centre , Jaji, Weapon Handling Training Course, Prison Staff Training College, Kaduna, Internal Security Exercise, Nigeria Army School of Infantry, Jaji

Alfadarai,a Fellow of National Defence College ( fdc ), course 30 and Member Nigeria Institute of Management (mnim) belongs to several other professional and academic organisations
