Comptroller Nnadi Reminds Stakeholders of Compliance in Ember Months


The Customs Area Controller Tin Can Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Comptroller Dera Nnadi on Monday, 30th September 2024 at about 12:15 hours, had a talk with stakeholders at the area command, harping on compliance.

IMG 20240930 WA0043The parley was to further intimate stakeholders on new modalities of what is expected of them who do businesses in the Command on a daily basis.

The CAC again used the opportunity to emphasized his theme for the year 2024, which is ” Year of the Stakeholders,”. He stated that the well-being of all who come to do businesses in the area command is a priority to him, the command and the Service.

IMG 20240930 WA0042Highlighting that the year is at its last quarter, he appreciated all efforts put in to ensure that the revenue for the year is achieved as he calls for compliance as all hands should be on deck to make it happen.

Nnadi commend the struggles stakeholders go through during the ember season, especially towards the end of the year, stating that genuine declarations from complaint traders will not have issues of delay, but for those who think they can circumvent the system should have themselves to blame as cutting of corners will not be negotiated.

He went further to state that he has ensured that all new crested bonded terminals domicile in TCIP has space available for stakeholders while they go about their businesses, “but at the headquarters here, no such space has been created”.

Comptroller Nnadi promised that he would look critically into it as renovations are on going in the premises. He advised the stakeholders to learn to keep the environment clean, pending when new bins will be distributed at designated areas, as a clean environment portrays a healthy lifestyle.

During the stakeholders brief engagement , Comptroller Dera Nnadi was able to gat some feedback responses as he gave room for questions and answers were given , as he promised that all issues raised will be looked into as soon as possible.
