After their title celebration last week was delayed by rival neighborhors Manchester United, Guardiola’s men have finally won the 2017/2018 English Premier League title.
Manchester City beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 on Saturday, to reclaim a 16- point lead over rival neighbors Manchester United, having lost three points to them the previous weekend.
Manchester City’s hope of clinching the title was hinged on the game between relegation bound West Bromwich Albion and Man United sitting at second position in the league table.
Man City’s expectations however became a reality when West Brom surprised their host, United in a game that ended 1-0 in favor of Both West Brom and Man City.
Jay Rodriguez handed the trophy to City with a goal in the 74th minute as United played a double role by salvaging a relegation bound team and handing their rival the trophy.
The result leaves second-placed United just one point above Liverpool, although Jose Mourinho’s side do have a game in hand.
