ANC’s secretary general, Ace Magashule and his deputy secretary general, Jessie Duarte, have served President Jacob Zuma, a letter containing the resolution of the party’s highest decision making body to sack him from office.
The two party officials arrived at Zuma’s official residence in Pretoria this morning.
According to reports they spent about 90 minutes at the residence.
The ANC came to the decision to recall Zuma after a lengthy meeting on Monday that lasted into the wee hours of Tuesday.
At one point in the meeting, President of the ANC, Cyril Ramaphosa left the meeting at St.Georges Hotel, outside of Pretoria to talk with Zuma. On their return, the meeting went ahead for another three hours.
The ruling party is set to hold a press conference today on it’s plan to depose Zuma from office.
Zuma’s presidential office translated to an issue when Ramaphosa won a severe contested election to become the leader of the party last month.
Since it’s only one captain permitted to sail a ship, the party began the ousting process for Zuma.
